Abby Daleki Solo Exhibition

we’ve been so impressed with what our midwest nice artists have been up to this year! we’re sharing the amazing accomplishments within our community.

We’re excited to share work by Abby Daleki @abbydalekiart✨ Abby currently has a solo exhibition at the University of Delaware, in hindsight, respectfully. Abby’s work was exhibited in our nice;01 exhibition.

I was invited to exhibit my work at the University of Delaware in the Reading Room of the Morris Library for the 2023-2024 academic year as part of their Alumni series. I graduated in 2017 with my MFA and was thrilled to be asked to share my work! In the last 10 years, I have been exploring how loosely a painting can be described. What are the necessary elements in an object for it to still be considered a painting? Some of the paintings shown here are clearly stretched over a frame, but the others are completely frameless. I continue to use paint and paint brushes, but push the boundaries by using bedsheets or other fabrics instead of traditional canvas. I like to work on the paintings while they are laying down and I am standing over them as it feels more like play and exploration. — Abby Daleki
