Amber Hansen and Mural on the Wall

We love seeing what our midwest nice artists are up to! We’re excited to share an article from @arts_midwest featuring Amber Hansen @amberhansenart ✨ Amber is featured in our signal jammers exhibition.

Amber Hansen is part of the Mural On The Wall @mural_otw team with Reyna Hernandez. Mural OTW creates community-based projects in rural spaces. The mural pictured here is in Vermillion, South Dakota. The team has been hard at work in many communities bringing imagery to the histories and social experiences important to the locals. The authorship is placed in the hands of the community, giving a communal voice to residents.

As Reyna states, “When you have more voices in the room, the image becomes so much more complex and robust. It tells a larger story that we’re all connected to. That’s the magic of this process.”

Keep up with the work the Mural On The Wall team is doing on their instagram! You can read the full article by Rebecca Froehlich here.
